Overview
The “Maria van Hongarije” Room breathes style and prestige with its marble floor, original ceiling with exposed beams, chandeliers, and remarkable fireplace. Mary of Hungary was Governess of the Netherlands and sister of Charles V. She and her brother stayed in the German House in the period 1545-1546. The room was originally known as the “Kapittelzaal”. Interesting detail: a ceiling beam, purposely left unpainted, shows visitors that the room has been renovated in a style of our own.
